The need for developer assistance while setting up marketing automation mainly depends on the complexity of the automation and the compatibility provided by other connected products. Simple notification systems and lead transfer workflows can be set up from Salespanel itself using a direct integration or Zapier. Moderately complex and multi-level workflows can be created using Zapier without any developer assistance provided that the tool or tools you are integrating with support Zapier and have the necessary ‘Triggers’ or ‘Actions’ you are looking for. In a case where you want to integrate with in-house solutions in your company or set up complex workflows, you will need to use Salespanel API, for which developer assistance is required.
Simple Notifications and Data Transfer
Various notification triggers and CRM data transfer integrations can be set up directly from Salespanel. For segments, you can set up notifications through browser or Gmail to yourself or your team members from the segment creation wizard. Notifications for all leads and accounts captured can be set up or changed from Notification Preferences settings on Salespanel.
Two way data transfer through direct integrations to CRMs like Pipedrive can be set up in a few clicks. For CRMs where direct integrations are not available, sync through Zapier can be set up.
Workflow Automation with Zapier
Zapier is a free tool (premium plans also available) that helps in setting up automated workflows without any coding requirements. Zapier helps you connect APIs of multiple tools (without any technical complexity) for automated triggers or data transfer. The best thing about Zapier is that it is a global standard in the SAAS world and most commonly used web applications support it.
The way Zapier based automation works is that the products that support it provide a set of inbound and outbound triggers. Since Salespanel is an information facilitator, it provides outbound triggers only as of now. Salespanel primarily provides these four triggers: Contact Identified (for exporting when contacts are captured), Visiting company identified (for triggering when accounts are identified), Contact Qualified for a Feed (triggers when contacts qualify for a segment) and Lead Score Updated (triggers to update lead score in recipient tools).
We have discussed the triggers in detail in the Zapier section of our helpdesk and on this article.
The recipient tools will also have a set of actions available. CRMs would have triggers like add contact, update contact or create a deal. You can integrate multiple products at the same time for multi-leveled workflows. For example, you can set up a workflow where when contacts qualify for a segment on Salespanel, a notification is generated on a Slack channel and the lead is added as a deal on your CRM.
API Based Automation
The limitation of Zapier comes from the fact that you are limited to functionalities provided by Zapier and the integrations as actions and triggers. And, not all tools support Zapier. You are also dependent on a third-party tool and high-end use cases add up to the expenditure. With API based integrations, businesses manage integrations end-to-end and can create highly customized workflows that are tailor-made for their business.
Many enterprise Salespanel customers use our API to send data to in-house software before triggering integrations. For example, Salespanel API can be used to personalize customer experience and complete ABM based functionalities.
If you are trying to implement a high-level use case, it is a good idea to get developer assistance. Most enterprise users have developers create workflows for them.
