Why Isn't GoDaddy Website Builder a Supported Platform?
GoDaddy's Website Builder, part of their GoDaddy Websites + Marketing product, includes a feature that allows customers to insert custom HTML code blocks (https://www.godaddy.com/en-in/help/add-html-or-custom-code-to-my-site-27252).
However, these custom code blocks are embedded within an iframe on the page, isolated from the rest of the website's source code.
For Salespanel's tracking code to function correctly, it must be embedded directly in the source code of the pages where you want to track visitor activity. Unfortunately, GoDaddy's Website Builder does not provide the capability to insert JavaScript directly into the source code of the website, which is a necessary step for the Salespanel tracking code to operate effectively. This limitation is imposed by GoDaddy and restricts the tracking code from recognizing visitor activity across your site.
This limitation is not unique to the Salespanel tracking code; it is a general restriction that affects a wide range of tracking tools and any vendor-based scripts that are designed to add functionality directly to the host website. Since GoDaddy's Website Builder embeds custom code within an isolated iframe, these scripts are unable to interact with the main content of the page. As a result, any third-party tracking tools, analytics scripts, or other code that relies on being part of the main website source will be unable to function as intended. This limitation is inherent to the current architecture of GoDaddy's Website Builder and affects numerous services that depend on direct access to the website's source code
What Happened to the Option for Custom Code?
In earlier versions of GoDaddy's Website Builder (version 6 and earlier), users had the ability to embed custom code in both the header and footer of a website through fields provided in the Settings. However, this feature was removed when GoDaddy transitioned customers to the latest version of their Website Builder product, thereby eliminating the ability to insert JavaScript directly into the page source.
Are There Any Alternatives?
For users who are utilizing GoDaddy's Website Builder, there are currently no alternative methods to properly install the Salespanel tracking code. This limitation applies specifically to the Website Builder product.
If you are using another GoDaddy product that allows for direct editing of the website's source code, such as GoDaddy's traditional hosting with cPanel, you may be able to implement the Salespanel tracking code effectively.
